Estonian Prime Minister visited BLRT Grupp
On January 23, the Prime Minister of Estonia Jüri Ratas visited BLRT Grupp.
The head of the government received a detailed overview of the Group’s subsidiaries’ activities and its investment projects. During the conversation, an issue of lack of qualified specialists with required level and skills was discussed as well. According to Jüri Ratas, the BLRT Grupp’s activities reflect all major opportunities, difficulties and challenges facing today both large enterprises and employers of Estonia, and our economy in general.
“The issue of labor and stability of business environment are the key factors enabling the company to build a long-term investment plans. The shortage of skilled labor is also a problem for foreign investors. The government is working to resolve this problem," said Ratas during the visit of the company.
The Prime Minister got acquainted with the key production facilities of BLRT Grupp: the repair yard, engineering company, the unique foundry in Estonia, with the company Wärtsilä BLRT Estonia, as well as with the manufacture of metal structures and equipment for the oil & gas industry and infrastructure projects.
“Maintaining competitiveness of the Group is possible solely constantly increasing efficiency and investing in modern equipment. For several years we are realizing a voluminous long-term strategic investment program. Only in 2017 we invested about 44 million euros," explained Veronika Ivanovskaja, the Chairman of the Board of BLRT Grupp.
